I’m a veteran web developer just starting work in a startup venture after working for a Fortune 500 company in northern Illinois for the last 5 years. My professional interests revolve around creating process efficiencies using scripting languages and agile methodologies. Recently, I’ve taken on responsibilities for the build and deployment for a new, large Websphere implementation. As such, most of my time is now spent working with the Hudson build server, Ant and shell scripts, and the Websphere Application Server deployment mechanisms. I’ve written a number of articles for Devx.com on Java and Python related topics and also wrote a few articles for The View (Notes Domino paper journal).
My interests in Buddhism are those of an active practitioner. Though years ago most of the Buddhist literature I read was about the Zen school, over the past couple of years I’ve become very enamored of the writings of some of the luminaries of the Tibetan (Vajrayana) school. Most notably, I’ve read and listened to a lot of work by the Dalai Lama and Pema Chodron.
I’m hopeful that the writings in my blog will help somebody gain some insight into their work and/or personal outlook that will be of benefit. Please feel free to comment and let me know what I can do better to make this blog more helpful and engaging.
